When it comes to pursuing compensation in your personal injury case, having the most knowledgeable and experienced legal assistance on your side can make the difference between winning a ruling or settlement or coming away empty-handed. At Mueller, Lawson & Frobish, P.C., we understand this and offer some of the most experienced and competent individuals to handle your case.
Our Morris attorney, Joseph A. Mueller, exemplifies the quality service and representation that we provide to clients and is one of the founding members of our firm.
Attorney Mueller began his practice as an appellate prosecutor and then as an Assistant’s State attorney, and eventually, the First Assistant’s State attorney in LaSalle County, Illinois. He has been regularly trying cases to jury verdict since 1979. After leaving the State Attorney’s office, he handled criminal cases and tried numerous felony cases to jury verdict for a significant period of time.
He was successful in obtaining not-guilty verdicts in every felony jury trial in which he represented a defendant. Along with Mueller, Lawson & Frobish, P.C. formed their partnership approximately 25 years ago, so that they could concentrate solely on their areas of interest; litigation and, in particular, plaintiff’s personal injury work. Since Matthew Mueller has come to our firm and handles criminal cases along with personal injury cases, Attorney Mueller has been handling exclusively plaintiff’s personal injury cases.
With nearly 95% of his practice being devoted to litigation, he has extensive trial experience and is not afraid to aggressively fight for clients in the courtroom.
He has successfully prosecuted personal injury cases in Grundy, Will, LaSalle, Livingston, Bureau, Cook, DuPage, Kankakee, Kendall, Kane, McLean, Iroquois, Champaign, Vermilion, Winnebago, McHenry and Shelby counties, as well as in the United States District courts for the Northern and Central districts of Illinois.
Attorney Joseph A. Mueller prides himself on the fact that he is willing to try difficult cases. He was successful in obtaining a $200,000 verdict in a Grundy County case, which several other attorneys had turned down and which proceeded to trial with no settlement offer made by the defendant.
Recent trials have included a LaSalle County case where he obtained a $276,000 jury verdict award, where he had received a last-minute offer of $20,000 and in which the court let into evidence photographs of both vehicles involved in the collision which showed no visible damage. The case involved a $100,000 underlying policy and he was successful in perfecting a bad-faith claim, from which his client obtained well in excess on the $100,000 policy.
Recently, Attorney Mueller was part of a two-attorney team which obtained a $1,086,338 jury verdict in a Grundy County case. He has taken more plaintiff’s personal injury cases to jury than anyone else in Grundy County in the last 20 years and none of those cases have resulted in a defense verdict.
Most recently he tried a case in the spring of 2019 in where he obtained a jury verdict in Grundy County in the amount of $155,785.84 in which the defendant made no settlement offer. He has resolved many cases in excess of a million dollars including two separate cases in Iroquois County alone, which were each resolved in excess of $1,000,000. A significant number of his cases are referred by other attorneys.
