J.C. Lawson is an Associate Attorney with our firm at Mueller, Lawson & Frobish, P.C. He was raised in Grundy County and graduated from Morris High School in 2005. After high school, J.C. attended business school at Loyola University Chicago, where he graduated Cum Laude, with degrees in Finance and Marketing in 2009. He went on to become a graduate of The John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 2013.
During law school, J.C. spent time working with the Post-Conviction Unit in the Cook County Public Defender’s Office, where he gained experience in handling criminal cases that involved extensive prison sentences. J.C. then moved back to his hometown and served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Grundy County judges, where he became associated with the local courtrooms and performed legal research on several of the local cases in the county.
In January of 2012, J.C. then interned for the Grundy County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he played an extensive role in the prosecution of both misdemeanor and felony criminal cases, gaining significant litigation experience prior to passing the Illinois State Bar Exam in 2013. J.C. began working with our firm in 2013, and now practices in several areas of law. J.C. stays an active member of the community; serving as a Board Member for Grundy County United Way, Kiwanis, and the Morris Community High School Education Foundation, as well as maintaining an active role in Grundy County Habitat for Humanity.
