Immunization Awareness

Posted in News,Uncategorized on August 3, 2017

Daycare and schools have a lot of traffic, making them the perfect breeding ground for germs and viruses.

West Virginia state law requires proof of vaccinations before the child can enter into daycare or any West Virginia public school. Getting vaccinated at the right age is something that parents are responsible for. Parents should check their child’s vaccination records regularly to be sure they are up to date on all vaccines.

Each state has different minimum requirements for each stage in life. Those charts can be found on the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources website or at this link. Their mission is to prevent and control vaccine-preventable diseases in West Virginians. The Division of Immunization Services provides a program for eligible children to receive free vaccines. If you would like more information regarding vaccines or the VFC program, please call the Department of Immunization Services at 1-800-642-3634.
