Have a Safe Halloween!

Posted in Injuries,Uncategorized on October 31, 2014

Halloween is a fun time for children and families to dress up, enjoy gatherings, and eat plenty of treats. It is also a time when everyone needs to take extra care for pedestrians during trick-or-treating to avoid injury, or even worse, death. Be aware of your surroundings at all times whether you’re a driver or a pedestrian to avoid causing a fun time to turn into a tragedy in a split second.

Here are some safety tips to keep in mind for trick-or-treating:

  • Walk in well-lit areas
  • Plan bright costumes and wear reflective material if possible
  • Use face paint instead of masks to help with vision
  • Use a flashlight when trick-or-treating in the dark
  • Keep your lights on your porch on if you plan to hand out candy
  • Make sure your sidewalk is clear to avoid any trips
  • Restrain your pets to avoid any accidents

Trick-or-treating times for the area can be found at this link.

Remember to be safe and responsible over the weekend. Trick-or-treating, haunted houses, hay rides, and pumpkin carving can make autumn a lot of fun for everyone, but make sure injuries and accidents don’t happen. If you’ve been injured, contact one of our attorneys to get the help you need.
