Be Safe: Black Friday Shopping

Posted in Safety Tips,Uncategorized on November 24, 2017

The day after Thanksgiving is traditionally one of the largest shopping days of the year. Stores are competing with each other on sales, door busters, and incentives. Shoppers are often starting their black Friday shopping right after Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. For some families and friends, it has become tradition to shop all day the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Although spending the day shopping can be a lot of fun, it can turn tragic in the blink of an eye. We’ve all heard stories about employees or shoppers being trampled or getting into fights over the last of an item. To save yourself from the crowd, check out what deals stores have online. Often times you can find exactly what you want without having to leave your home.

Stores are at risk for lawsuits if they fail to follow basic safety requirements and tips for Black Friday shoppers. Stores should try to avoid advertising a flash sale and should instead try to get customers throughout the entire day. Stores should have extra crowd control from experienced workers in order to properly manage the crowd. Large crowds of shoppers also mean bigger messes to clean up. Stores need monitored throughout the day and more often than normal to make sure there are no safety hazards in place.

If you plan to shop today, stay safe, have fun, and take your time. Getting a sweet deal on a toy isn’t worth being seriously injured.
