Have a fun and safe Halloween!

Posted in Safety Tips,Uncategorized on October 26, 2017

It’s that time of year again when families get dressed up, enjoy gatherings, and eat plenty of treats! Halloween is also a time where everyone needs to be extra attentive to pedestrians when trick-or-treating is occurring. Halloween night is one of the deadliest nights for child pedestrian fatalities. Be aware of all your surroundings at all times whether you are driving or walking to avoid having a fun time turn into a tragedy.

Below are a few tips to keep in mind while enjoying trick-or-treating:

· Walk in well-lit areas

· Wear lights or reflective tape on your costume to make yourself more visible

· Use face paint instead of masks to help with your vision

· Only visit houses with porch lights on

· Restrain your pets to avoid any accidents

· Always walk on sidewalks, or if there are none, towards traffic on the side of the road

· Never enter a stranger’s home or car

Remember to be safe and responsible during Halloween. Trick-or-treating, haunted houses, hay rides, and pumpkin carving can make autumn a lot of fun, but can take a tragic turn quickly.
