Vaghareli Khichdi Masala


Vaghareli khichdi is a popular dish from gujarat. It is widely loved by people as it is a light and healthy dish consisting of whole spices, vegetables, dal, and rice. Bharat vaghareli khichdi masala, brings out the best flavour and aroma as also, adds just the right amount of spiciness which best compliments gujarati kadhi.

Ingredients: Cinnamon, Coriander, Clove, Star Anise, Bay Leaves, Red Chilli, Turmeric, Black Pepper, Asafoetida, Stone Flower, Salt, Cumin.


  • 1. Take 2 table spoon ghee in pressure cooker. add cumin, 8-10 peanuts, 1 chopped green chilli, 1 chopped onion, 1 table spoon ginger garlic paste, curry leaves and 1 chopped tometo. Saute it for 5-8 minutes.
  • 2. Wash 1/2 cup tuver dal and 1/2 cup rice. Add in cooker. Add water accordingly.
  • 3. Add 1 tbs turmeric, 2 tsp bharat khichdi masala and salt to taste. Add cut vegetables (small potato, green piece, carrot etc)
  • 4. Close the lid and cook till 5 whistles.
  • 5. Vaghareli khichdi is ready. serve with gujarati hot kadhi and butter milk.
